Scope:
The scope of this consulting service is the testing of laser-based surface modification for the generation of functional surfaces (wetting, antibacterial, antiice, tribology, etc...) directly on a component. The component is expected to have a simple shape, either flat or with small curvature, and materials may range from metals to polymers, composites and ceramics.
The service is limited to consultancy and testing on simple surfaces, the scope would not include processing of complex 3D shapes, or a full industrial process development. The requesting company must indicate the target application and specifications, including minimal validation tests or protocols. Based on this information, the service provider will identify the laser source and technique needed, and agree with the company a range of experiments and deliverables. The company will provide the base materials for testing.

- Report creation and delivery, with indications of proposed next steps for process development or upscaling.
The extent of the work is expected to span for 2-4 weeks of engineering and experimental work, plus the additional work for briefing and reporting.
