Lasers - a key technology towards the real advanced manufacturing

26 October 2021 - 10:30 - 11:30 CEST

ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS) is an initiative promoted by the European Commission to expand the digital innovation of manufacturing SMEs in Europe. Within I4MS PULSATE and AMable are the projects supporting manufacturing SMEs in the uptake of additive manufacturing technology.

Manufacturing has seen many improvements in the past years. Most companies focus on productivity to meet cost targets in order to compete in today's markets. But new products often require new production technology to meet functional demand and to have break through increase in efficiency and product features. Laser-based manufacturing technologies enable such break-through innovations. Applied to additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, welding or cutting, laser-based processes allow engineers to design complete new products with features that have not been available before.

The European Commission supports two initiatives that provide support in the area of laser-based additive manufacturing, PULSATE and AMable. Where PULSATE covers a full range of laser-based applications, AMable offers in depth support for additive manufacturing.

Come and see how you can profit from these initiatives.
